Our Area Tops Best Suburbs List
We are not surprised our area has been voted as one of Sydney’s most liveable locations. We’ve always known we are in a great position and now confirmation has come in a recent Domain Liveable Sydney 2016 study.
The study listed Elizabeth Bay in the top 10 Sydney suburbs, with factors such as access to employment, transport, culture, shopping, education, cafés and restaurants and open space being taken into consideration. Crime levels, views, telecommunication services, tree cover and beach access were also taken into account.
While we would have voted Elizabeth Bay in the number one spot, the study placed it in 9th position with some lower north shore suburbs such as Lavender Bay, Milsons Point and McMahons Point grabbing the top positions.
But there was no argument when the study focused solely on young professionals. This group voted Woolloomooloo the number one place to live with many loving the 15 minute walk to the city, great cafes and restaurants, beautiful parklands and the harbour. They voted Darlinghurst second, Surry Hills sixth, Potts Point ninth and Elizabeth Bay seventeenth.
Sydney set for Sizzling Spring Property market
Experts are predicting a strong start to the Sydney spring property market, with all indicators suggesting it will be an ideal time to sell.
With stock levels at their lowest in a long time and buyers keen to take advantage of the lowest interest rates on record, vendors look set to be in the box seat as the weather warms up.
In the last weeks of winter, the Sydney auction clearance rate hit a high of 84.1 per cent, signalling a strong start to spring. “The Sydney market is steaming into spring, recording its highest August weekend clearance rate on record with nearly all regions sharing in the late-winter boom,” Domain Group chief economist Dr Andrew Wilson told Fairfax media.
